Kevin Finklea received his BA at TylerSchool of Art in Philadelphia. Recent exhibitions: P.S.1 (MoMA), Long Island City, NY; Sydney Non-Objective, Sydney, Australia, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia. Recent publications: Crozier Fine Arts Inc. New York, NY and New American Paintings, The open Studios Press. Recent acquisition: PennsylvaniaAcademy of the Fine Arts, Permanent Contemporary Art Development Collection, Philadelphia, PA. Finklea’s recent wooden works, composed of painted wodden objects from his studio, use repetition as a pictorial strategie. His sculptural recycling of material from sculptures goes beyond reuse as a principle, to assert the subversive possibilities of creative assembly.
