L’innocence du moment présent, 2009
This series, based on photographic snapshots, revolves around the innocence of the photographer and of his subject at the moment of the ‘shot’. At the same time the pictorial translation transforms each snapshot into the archetype of a certain attitude towards life that transcends the autobiographical and anecdotal and explores the interaction between the uniformity of repetition and its opposite, the shock of the unexpected. This picks up again on the topics of sense/nonsense, transience/death in earlier series and develops them further (‘le conteur’, 2008, ‘peanuts’ 2009, ’banality never changes’ 2009)
